Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 6, 2026
1. Who processes your data
Duecat is developed by David Montenegro, an independent developer. If you have questions about this policy or your data, contact us at soporte@duecat.app.
2. What information we collect
Account data
- If you sign up with email and password: your first name, last name, and email address.
- If you sign up with Google: your first name, last name, email address, and, if your Google account has one, your profile photo.
- If you sign up with Apple: your name and email address (or Apple's private relay email, if you choose to hide yours).
Your financial data
Everything you enter into the app to organize your finances: expenses, income, categories, lists, monthly periods, and the groups you organize them into. This is the whole point of Duecat, so we store this information so we can show it back to you.
Membership and subscription
Every new account gets 7 days of full access with no card required. To keep using Duecat afterward, you need to subscribe to the monthly or annual plan. We store your membership status: plan, the date until which you have access, whether it renews automatically, and Apple's transaction identifier. We do not receive or store your payment details: the purchase is processed by Apple through your Apple account, and we only receive confirmation that it is active.
Profile photo
If you choose to take or upload a profile photo (or if your Google account already has one), we store it on your device and also in the cloud, so it appears on your other devices. Before uploading it, the app crops it to a square and shrinks it to 400 × 400 pixels. It is kept in private storage: only your own account can view or modify it.
We do not collect your location, your contacts, or data from other apps. Duecat has no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs built in: the app's code only depends on Supabase (our database), RevenueCat (to manage subscriptions), and Google and Apple sign-in services (if you choose to use them).
3. How we use your information
We use your information exclusively to:
- Create and maintain your account.
- Sync your financial data across your devices.
- Show you your own financial summary (what you owe, what you have paid, what is still pending).
- Manage your membership: know whether your trial or subscription is active and enable or block access to the app accordingly.
We do not sell your information. We do not use it for advertising. We do not share it with third parties for commercial purposes.
4. Where your information is stored
Your data lives in two places:
- On your device, using SwiftData (Apple's local storage system), so the app works even without a connection.
- In the cloud, in a database and file storage managed by Supabase, our backend provider. Every row of your financial data and your profile photo are protected with Row Level Security: only your own account can read or modify your data.
5. Who we share information with
- Supabase, as our database and authentication infrastructure provider. It processes your data on our behalf, it does not own it.
- Google and Apple, only if you choose to sign in with your Google or Apple account. Each processes your authentication according to its own privacy policy.
- Apple, also as the processor of in-app purchases and subscriptions (App Store).
- RevenueCat, the provider that manages subscriptions. It receives an identifier for your account and your purchase information in order to verify purchases and tell us their status; it does not receive your financial data from the app or your payment details. RevenueCat retains purchase records associated with your account under its own privacy policy, even if you delete your Duecat account.
We do not share your financial information with anyone else.
6. Device permissions
Duecat requests camera access only so you can take a profile photo. You can use the app without granting this permission; you just will not be able to take a new photo from within the app.
7. How long we keep your information
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If your trial or subscription expires, we do not delete your data: it stays there for when you subscribe again.
You can delete your account and all your data directly from the app. Deletion removes your information from our servers, including your profile photo, but it does not cancel your subscription: your subscription can only be cancelled from Apple Settings (Settings > your name > Subscriptions). In addition, RevenueCat retains the purchase records of your subscription, as they are needed to verify and record transactions. If you prefer, you can also contact us at soporte@duecat.app.
8. Your rights
You can ask us at any time, by writing to soporte@duecat.app, for:
- Access to the data we hold about you.
- Correction of inaccurate data.
- Deletion of your account and your data.
9. Children's privacy
Duecat is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under that age.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. If the change is significant, we will let you know inside the app.
